PDC Premier Holdings Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Pentanah Sdn Bhd) was incorporated in 1976 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Penang Development Corporation to handle all land development and to administer the construction and sale of PDC's houses. As the above did not materialize, PDC Premier Holdings remained dormant.
PDC Premier Holdings was reactivated as an Investment Holding Company in 1992, when it purchased shares from PDC and other shareholders in PDC Nusabina Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Nusabina Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd).
PDC Premier Holdings also formed Pen-Urus Harta Sdn Bhd (a JV company), in 1992 to take over the maintenance of KOMTAR.
In 1994, PDC Premier Holdings undertook a restructuring exercise of its subsidiaries with the aim of reducing overlapping of activities, providing greater transparency and accountability among all companies within the PDC group, resulting in enhancing business effectiveness and long term shareholder value.
In line with this restructuring and the enhanced role to be played by PDC Premier Holdings as the investment arm of PDC, the name Pentanah Sdn Bhd was changed to PDC Premiers Holdings Sdn Bhd.
The role of PDC Premier Holdings Sdn Bhd as the PDC's investment arm was also reviewed by making it the holding company for all subsidiaries in the PDC Group with a view is to be listed on the Bursa Malaysia in the near future. |
